All Opinions Welcome and Appreciated

I've been playing with different colors tonight trying to figure out what to do with my Elk Snout dilemma on Blackstone Fantasy Garden...

At first I tried adding the coffee that is used in the borders of the knots but that was TOO much and completely obliterated any sign of the Elk Snout.

I then pulled out my handy dandy DMC color card and brought the spreadsheet I have listing my stash of floss up on the computer and I sat there and pondered my next move.

I tried #632 that I had just used in BoInk but it too was too dark and obliterated the ES (Elk Snout). I then pulled #'s 869, 610, 611 and 167. #167 seems to be very close to ES, so I veto that one. I then tried the #611.

This is plain Elk Snout

This is Elk Snout with #611 added to it

I think this works.

As usual I'd love to have some comments and suggestions as to what you think...

Thanks to Suzie she gave me some comments on my post earlier today which got me thinking along these lines...

By the way here is an update of how all the black work is looking so far...

Jackie, on my computer screen it now shows up just fine, but isn't overpowering. It is as delicate looking as the other detailing, with the same "strength" and balance of color with your other color choices.

From my viewpoint, you found an excellent solution! Well done!!

This piece is so awesome, and I can't believe how quickly you've come this far on it! It won't be too much longer, and you'll be done!

I think your potential solution is great! It looks like the color needed just a little help, and your solution seems to have done the trick. It stands out like it should, but the color isn't too bold or too bright, so I think you got it!

Good luck with the rest of the blackwork. It looks awesome so far! I love it!

I think the 611 added to it looks good. Makes it stand out a bit darker and now I can see the stitching. If you are worried about there being 2 strands to everything else done in 1... why not just use 611 all by itself? I don't know the shades of elk snout and 611, just a suggestion.

Otherwise it is looking great and you are stitching so fast! I wish I had more time to stitch!
